Indigo Collection Presents:

Azizan Renaissance Experience

The Aziza are benevolent West African nature fairies who glow with beauty and magic. They offer 3D and spiritual knowledge to those who they come across. Often times to hunters and travelers that happen by their part of the forest. With the Azizan Renaissance Experience, the founder Lauren, seeks to share the knowledge, beauty and magic she's been blessed with. Sharing her gifts and experiences with those who also love and support nature, the arts, creativity, authenticity and spirituality. All in the name of wholistic healing.

If you are interested in being a part of this whimsical and wholesome experience, please refer to this page for upcoming events, offerings, and gatherings that are for the upliftment, freedom of expression and embodiment of Black femininity*. Previous Events

Working on Womanhood Sip & Paint:

July 30, 2024- Was invited back as a guest artist to lead in a workshop of ~15 WOW participants. This time I walked the group through Emotional Freedom Technique tapping. "Emotional freedom technique (EFT) is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress... [EFT] can reduce the stress or negative emotion you feel from your issue" (Anthony) through tapping or rubbing acupressure points throughout the body.

July 22, 2024- Was invited as a guest artist to a (sparkling juice) Sip & Paint organized by Working on Womanhood (WOW). Led ~40 incoming freshman in a somatic movement* exercise, shared my artistic process and background, and spent time talking with the young girls about the power of art and its healing abilities. We got the opportunity to talk about color theory, intuitive art making, the emotional benefits of creative outlets, as well as their professional goals. It was an honor to be welcomed into a space of intentionally connecting, having space to create, and share our art with one another.

*"A somatic movement is a movement that’s practiced consciously with the intention of focusing on the internal experience of the movement rather than the external appearance or the end result of the movement."

Arts Career Exploration Event:

April 11, 2024- Presented an original art piece to the Becoming A Man (BAM) school based program, which is offered through Youth Guidance. Was invited to share my creative process using the medium oil pastels, show my work, and offer some insights as a freelance artist/creative. I had the pleasure of going on a Pilsen Mural tour and connect with youth on the beauty of artist expression. Also had the privilege of connecting with other creatives in the space.

Poetry Workshop:

September 15, 2023- With the energy of the new moon, I led a poetry writing workshop where we learned about the poetry form known as Incantation. In the beautiful and fitting setting of Lake Michigan, we made the most of the soothing environment of the Oakwood beach as well as the prompt to write our own incantation.
